The Union has lodged a pay claim to call centre RelateCare on behalf of its members. The following text is what was sent to Conor O’Byrne, CEO of RelateCare:

We are writing to urge you to provide an enhanced Christmas bonus for employees this year.

As you are aware, the Small Benefits Exemption Scheme allows for up to €1,000 to be given tax-free to employees in the form of a voucher (such as One4All) or a preloaded debit card (Permx Card).

We call on you to support your workers by offering a Christmas bonus that reflects their years of service with the company.

We propose the following scale:

            •           Less than 1 year: €250

            •           1–2 years: €350

            •           2–3 years: €450

            •           3–4 years: €550

            •           4–5 years: €650

            •           5–6 years: €750

            •           6–7 years: €850

            •           7–8 years: €950

            •           8–9 years and beyond: €1,000

This proposed scale acknowledges employees’ dedication while addressing the challenges of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

We strongly urge RelateCare management to take this opportunity to do right by your workers and provide them with a meaningful and fair Christmas bonus this year.
